problems by teenagers

Peer Pressure

This is condition that makes many people do things that they really don’t want to do.However, they feel that they have to do it in order to be part of something. This is called peer pressure. Peer pressure is everywhere. People are much influenced in the opinions people might have about them. They let themselves be influence by others, even if it goes against their will. But in a way, it could be good. There are two different kinds of peer pressure. What matters is with who you’re dealing with. The person is responsible for choosing whether to be around good people, with good morals or with bad people. These are the ones that are good.

The good peer pressure is the one that good people with good ideals inspire others to do the right thing, to be in the right track. Like if a teenager is hanging out with a group of friends that like to study and have good grades, it probably be influence to study and have good grade.

But, not everyone let themselves be influence by the good peer pressure, but unfortunately some of them do not. They steal, rob, rape, molest and even gamble. Another small minority of teenagers seem almost addicted to taking risks. They may steal cars, drive too fast, destroy property or even cross railway lines to spray graffiti.. Sometimes, when they cannot take it anymore, side effects are imminent-
There is no one specific reason for eating disorders. There are many factors that contribute to this expanding problem. Eating disorders are a result of psychological and interpersonal factors. The most common eating disorders involve one of the following: starvation, binging, compulsively overeating. Regardless of the eating disorder one may have, the effects can be devastating and even life threatening. Others include depression, self-mutilation, and even suicidal. In many cases, death can be a contributing factor to one’s pressure. They find their comfort either with food or by starving themselves. Whether it be binging, starvation, or overeating, this can be the beginning of a life long illness.

Friends are one cure besides cause for it. Good friends act primarily as companions, people with whom they can play football, share a joke, hang out and listen to music. For girls, friends are people with whom they can share secrets and share worries and anxieties. These friends help them cope with peer presure.

A Great Body

Having a great body is one of the things that everyone dreams of.
Nowadays, body image has become an important part of our life. Everyone is
dying to get the perfect figure and they would do just about anything to
achieve it. For men, the perfect figure is having a bigger and muscular body,
while women want to be slim and tall. The causes that drive these people to
attain beautiful bodies are the media stereotypes, suffering from low self-
esteem and similar to peer pressure.

Depression

Depression is a disorder that affects your thoughts, moods, feelings, behavior and even your physical health. People used to think it was "all in your head" and that if you really tried, you could "snap out of it" or just "get over it." But doctors now know that depression is not a weakness, and it's not something you can treat on your own. Depression is a medical disorder with a biological and chemical basis. It affects people of all race and age.

There are two hallmarks of depression that are the most obvious-

  1. Loss of interest in normal daily activities. You lose interest in or pleasure from activities that you used to enjoy.
  2. Depressed mood. You feel sad, helpless or hopeless, and may have crying spells.

Others include sleep disturbances, impaired thinking or concentration, changes in weight, agitation and thoughts of death.

Causes of it are due to rape, hormones, medications, stress, degrading comments, and first sexual experiences often occur in one’s childhood. Many traumatic childhood experiences can also lead to what results in eating disorders. Usually, the illness often runs in families. Experts believe a genetic vulnerability combined with environmental factors, such as stress or physical illness, may trigger an imbalance in brain chemicals called neurotransmitters, resulting in depression. Imbalances in three neurotransmitters — serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine — seem to be linked to depression.

Treatment can be in the form of Medication, Psychotherapy, Electroconvulsive therapy(The procedure may affect levels of neurotransmitters in your brain), and Light therapy

Drugs

When drugs were first introduced to the world you would have to travel to another country to buy them. Soon they were available in big cities, now drugs are sold everywhere including the smallest towns like the ones we live in right now. It was rare to hear about drugs being available to anyone other than a doctor, but these days you can walk down the street and find drugs being used and sold by many people. The availability of drugs increased greatly, especially to teenagers of all ages. Teens around the ages of 15-18 are using drugs and also selling them to younger or older friends and strangers. With drugs being available for anyone to buy this leads several problems dealing with peer-pressure.

An example would be the cigarette. The first cigarette behind the bike shed is often seen as an introduction to adolescence and many teenagers experiment with smoking. But nicotine is extremely addictive. A teenager would eventually come to this resort after having depression or peer pressure.
